Bulgasal Metal Fest is a rising force on the Swedish metal scene, based in Västerås. The festival made its debut on August 30–31, 2024, born from a passion for extreme metal spanning the late ’80s to the early 2000s. With raw riffs and relentless drums at its core, Bulgasal is more than just music, it’s about creating a community where fans and bands unite by Lake Mälaren for an unforgettable summer experience.
Founded by Suzette Kim, the vision behind Bulgasal is to give metal a stage at a time when venues are disappearing and bands struggle to be heard. Here, all artists are welcome – whether signed or completely independent. Bulgasal strives to be a bridge between music and fans, breaking down barriers and putting Västerås on the global metal map.
The vision extends beyond music.
Suzette also founded Bulgasal Ink Con, a tattoo convention debuting in Västerås in autumn 2025, to give alternative art its own space. Together, these projects create a platform where underground culture thrives, uniting music, art, and community.
